Here's What's New At Interior Redoux
Happy October first from kind-of-cloudy-SoCal! Could it be that Fall weather might actually be coming our way??
There’s a maple tree around the corner from my house (very unusual for around here) and the leaves are just starting to turn. Yesterday, when I was walking, there was one single crimson leaf on the street…
Our kitchen remodel is coming along — it’s just such slow going when you DIY everything!
The cabinets are (mostly) installed — there’s still one more upper to go in (on the wall to the right).
You can see we’re using them in the meantime. You gotta do what you gotta do, right???
The stone fabricator has been here to measure to give us a quote on the countertops.
This is the quartzite we’re using on the island. The gray Silestone in the middle will be on the perimeter countertops.
The quartzite is polished so we’re having our fabricator hone it because we don’t want a shiny finish. Keep that in mind if you’re ever shopping for stone and you find something you love but you don’t like the finish — you can generally have the finish changed.
On Wednesday, we talked about how to whiten and brighten sheets (time to get ready for holiday guests!). You can see all the details HERE if you missed it.
And now, let’s take a look at what interesting things I found for us this week:
Have you ever heard of a Link Party??
It’s a page where you can go and see all kinds of great inspiration from all kinds of different people.
Fabulous Fridays is a link party that I’m loving right now. It features dozens of creators showcasing everything for the home including recipes, home DIYs, gardening, decor and more!
You can check it out on my friend, Diane’s website, South House Designs, at:
And speaking of Diane, here’s a great tutorial she did on how to turn old thrifted vases into amazing Pottery Barn-inspired rustic vases:

I’m definitely hitting the thrift stores in search of some vases to transform!
This wood leaf garland is so cute! (The way she paints her wooden beads is genius!)
She uses gold leaf on her leaves for a beautiful look. Be sure to check it out HERE
This Fall tablescape is stunning! It’s luxurious and beautiful and easy. (And not a pumpkin in sight!)
You can see how she put it together HERE
This wheat decor is so good! I love the texture, natural color and simplicity of these dried wheat arrangements. Check out what she uses for the bases — so creative!

And these…
These mini apple pies are the perfect size for picking up and eating. They could be a snack or a dessert! They’re made with puff pastry and an apple cookie cutter. Get the recipe HERE
So here’s to Fall
