The Rest Of The Room
Today we’re going to do a little thing
Called ‘The Rest of the Room’
Do you ever wonder what’s just out of view
In some of my photos?
Like, what does the rest of the entryway look like?
Or what’s just to the right of the armiore in the dining room?
Well, there’s a reason why some of those shots are so tight
And you don’t see the whole room…
It’s because our house is really only about half-finished.
And some of those areas
That are left out are the ‘not finished’ parts
And they’re not really very pretty.
But today
I thought it would be fun to show you
What’s just out of the shot
In some of my favorite images
So you can see what you don’t usually get to see around here —
The Rest of the Room.
So here’s that photo again of the entryway
And here’s the rest of the room
We don’t have our new front door yet!
And the wall to the left has nothing on it.
And we don’t have the new entry light yet.
And if we pan a little more to the left…
Yikes!
There’s part of the dining room that’s waiting for cabinets!
And here’s the armoire at the other end of the dining room
And here’s another shot from a different post
(Notice the strategically placed eucalyptus tree)
And here’s the rest of the room
There’s the 1990’s kitchen to the right! And the little hallway that goes to Loren’s room…
(Look at how short that island is! It’s actually only 30 inches high — tabletop height. I don’t know how my mom cooked on that for 54 years! You can see we have the new (taller!) island taped out on the floor and we’ll be starting on it soon…)
And do you remember the photo of the media wall Mr. Redoux built?
But if we look just a little to the right…
There’s the unfinished fireplace!
And remember the armiore in the living room?
Here’s another shot of it
And here’s the rest of the room…
There’s the other half of the kitchen and that dining room wall we saw from the entry!
So we’ve come full circle…
I hope this has been fun for you to see
That this house is such a work in progress.
We’re putting our heart and soul
And blood and sweat
Into making it what we want.
Thanks for following along on our journey!
And we’ll keep keeping you posted
Every step of the way
