Life Lessons From An Afternoon At The Beach
Quick note — I’ve been under the weather for several days and haven’t had the energy to write a new blog post so I’m giving myself permission to take a few days off to recover. So I’m re-sharing this story I wrote last summer. I think the life lessons are fitting, don’t you?
I’ll be back soon!

We went to the beach the other day
Now, that doesn’t sound like such a big deal, does it?
Except that there was so much work to do here at home….

Projects
The Blog
The Six-Month Blogging Course I’m taking
Laundry to fold and floors to vacuum…
But we went to the beach
On a weekday
We loaded up the camper with food and games and gas
And we drove the 10 minutes to the beach (yes we live that close!)
We parked right next to the ocean
It was a beautiful day
Sunny and warm
We watched the surfers
And the seagulls
And the dolphins
And we ate snacks
And played games
And talked
And laughed
And ate store-bought roasted chicken and chips for dinner
And we enjoyed the sunset
And we enjoyed the food
And we enjoyed each other
And all that other stuff??
The Job…
And the Renovation…
And the Blog…
And the Projects…
And the Homework, Laundry and Floors…
It all waited for us to get back.
And when we got back...
We were relaxed
And content
And renewed
So my advice?
Listen to the life lessons that are given to you.
Take a break every now and then
Get away from the laundry and the floors
Play some games
Eat some chips and watch a sunset
I highly recommend it!
