Indoor Flowering Plants

A few weeks ago
I showed you how to make a 5-minute flower arrangement
in a soup tureen. (If you missed it, you can read about that HERE)
But what if you want something
that would last a little longer
than cut flowers?
I have 3 words for you:
INDOOR FLOWERING PLANTS!
Today I ‘planted’ some Cyclamen
into my soup tureens.
Here’s how quick and easy it was:
CHOOSE YOUR PLANT
Look for plants with healthy leaves and flowers. Choose plants with lots of buds for a longer flowering season.
ADD GRAVEL TO A DECORATIVE POT
Put a layer of gravel in the bottom of your pot. Spread it out evenly
SET THE CYCLAMEN POT IN
Set the cyclamen pot on top of the gravel and adjust so that it sits straight. The gravel will keep the plant from sitting in water when you water it.
COVER THE TOP WITH SPANISH MOSS
Add Spanish moss around the top to cover the black plastic pot
AND ENJOY!
It’s a perfect look for Spring!
Cyclamen come in different shades of pink too.
And they’re easy to grow indoors:
They need cool temperatures and indirect morning sunlight.
Keep the soil moist but don’t overwater.
And that’s all there is to it!
Happy growing!
