How To Make A Christmas Wreath Gift bag in 5 Easy Steps
(This post contains affiliate links)
I have a confession to make
Remember last week when I showed you how to make the quick and easy Christmas gift bags? If you missed it you can read it HERE
Well I was holding out on you…
You see, I had made one other Christmas gift bag that I didn’t show you
The reason that I didn’t share it was because it was easy but it really wasn’t as quick as the other ones
But even though it takes a couple of minutes longer to make than the others
It’s still super easy
And pretty cute
So I think you’ll still want to give it a try
Here’s what you’ll need:
A plain craft gift bag
Plain cotton duck or felt or any other medium to heavy weight fabric — you can use scraps because it doesn’t take very much fabric. I used some cotton duck scraps I had left over from a slipcover
9 to 11 3/8 inch beads
Sharp scissors
Hot glue gun
Paper and pencil
STEP ONE
Start by drawing a large circle on your bag.
I just use a saucer or small bowl that’s the right size and trace around it to get my circle
STEP TWO
Make a pattern of a small leaf shape that’s about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches long
This is what you’ll use to cut your wreath ‘leaves’
STEP THREE
Cut about 50 to 60 leaves from your fabric
STEP FOUR
Glue the leaves onto the circle with hot glue
Whichever direction you go around the circle, you want to make sure your next leaf is covering the glued end of the one before it
Keep going all the way around until the circle is covered. Then go around again and fill in any thin spots
STEP FIVE
Glue on your beads
Place your beads randomly around the wreath and secure them with a dab of hot glue.
Quick tip: if you have strings of hot glue on the project just hit it with a quick shot of hot air from your blow dryer and they’ll disappear
And you’re done!
I love white on white so that’s how I went with this
But you could do a white wreath on a red bag
Or a green wreath on a white bag
Or a white wreath on a brown bag
Or red beads on a white wreath….
Or…
