Quick tip: fill the bottom half of the basket with plastic bags or paper, then you only need to fill the top half with rolls of tissue.

Make sure you’ve got everything you need to be warm and cozy right next to you.

DISPLAY SOME VEGETABLES

Shop the vegetable bin in your fridge or the local Farmer’s Market for veggies that would make a colorful ‘bouquet’ in your French market basket. Extra points if you take the basket with you to the market to bring the vegetables home in!

(This is another place where you’re going to want to fill the bottom of the basket with plastic bags or paper so you don’t have to fill the whole basket with veggies.)

STORE BATH TOWELS

Keep the look simple and spa-like with rolled-up towels and sprigs of lavender.

Keep your books, journals, iPad and reading glasses within reach right next to your favorite chair or your comfy spot on the sofa.

I love this look! Hang your French market basket anywhere — on a ladder, a stair railing, a door knob, a coat hook, or over the back of a bar stool. It just adds a simple, casual vibe to the room.

ADD FRESH FLOWERS

There’s nothing like the look of fresh flowers hanging out of the side of a French market basket!

And it’s so easy to create!

Here’s what you do:

Find a plastic container that will fit inside your basket

You want to be sure to use plastic because glass will add too much weight. I use a plastic container that my protein powder comes in. Fill the container with just enough water for the stems to reach. Don’t add more water than you need — that will make it weigh too much too.

Put your container into the basket

Clip your stems

Then add your flowers to the container

Start with your greenery and longer stems so they drape over the side. Then add the flowers. You want the whole arrangement to look like you just bought the flowers and laid them in the basket and brought them home.

Now find the perfect place to put your French market basket filled with flowers!
