About Kim

I am a homebody.  There really is no other place I would rather be.  You know how some people love to travel? Well I think the best thing about traveling is coming home!  You know that feeling you get when you walk in the door after being gone for a while? It feels so good to be surrounded by your own familiar space again.  And how about that first night back in your own wonderful, comfortable bed? It doesn’t get any better than that…

My husband and I have been married for 43 years.  We have a daughter who is 31. She has Down Syndrome and lives with us.  And we have a 7-year-old yellow lab.

We lived in Northern California for 38 years.  I owned a decorating business there for over 30 years.  I was also a design contributor and consultant on several Sunset books.

Over the years, I designed three personal residences and my husband and I built them from the ground up.

We are die-hard do-it-yourselfers.

Way before the internet was invented.  Or HGTV and the DIY Network.

Wow – that was a long time ago……

Eleven years ago I started a different business that manages money for individuals with disabilities.

It’s very rewarding.  But I sit at a computer all day.  And pay people’s bills and do bookkeeping.

I really miss decorating.

Now after 38 years in Nor Cal, we have moved back to my hometown on the coast in Southern California.

And we just bought my childhood home!

Boy I am ready to get creative.  And really do some decorating.

BTW:  I still have my bookkeeping business.  So it looks like I will continue to be busy with that.

And this blog.

And the remodel.

Whew!  That is a lot….
